Kathy C. Harris, Esquire
Kathy C. Harris is currently the General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer for the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections. She is responsible for advising the Supervisor of Elections on all legal and administrative issues. She previously served as General Counsel for the Johnnie B. Byrd Sr., Alzheimer’s Center & Research Institute, Inc., where she provided legal advice to the CEO and other Institute officials. Ms. Harris has also worked in private practice specializing in the areas of government, corporate, securities and intellectual property law. In addition to her legal career, Ms. Harris has over twenty years of local government experience serving as the Assistant County Administrator for Human Services in Hillsborough County, and Director of Human Services in Broward County. Her government career also includes working for the Florida House of Representatives, the South Carolina House of Representatives and the United States Senate. She is the former CEO to a large non-profit and President of her own consulting firm.
Ms. Harris received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Carolina, a Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College, in New York City, the end result of a National Urban Fellowship, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. She is a member of the Florida Bar.
