Central Database for Florida Memory Disorder Clinics
Principle Investigator: Amy R. Borenstein, Ph.D., University of South Florida

The Central Database for Florida Memory Disorder Clinics will collect information from a variety of individual patients that are seen at of Florida Memory Disorder Clinics at different stages in their memory related diseases. Patients will include those with fully established memory impairment as well as those that are currently disease free but at high risk for a memory disorder. In addition data will be collected on patients that are free of any memory related disease and at low risk of disease development.

Immediate patient related goals of the of Florida Memory Disorder Clinics Central Database are to

  1. Provide a state-of-the-art database for clinical research on early detection, natural history and response to the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
  2. Allow studies of relatively rare, but important conditions such as frontal-temporal dementia (FTD) and Lewy body dementia (LBD).
  3. Provide the basis for large randomized clinical trials of new medications. These trials will include drugs and treatments that have been developed in Florida Alzheimer's. Disease Center and Research Institutes as well as pharmaceutical companies
